Calvin Antoine Blandin

Calvin Antoine Blandin (CAB) is a French animation director, visual artist and sculptor, born in Caen in 1989. After an art preparatory school in Paris he studied at the EMCA animation school in Angoulême until 2011, and has since made his directing work with the Paris studio Je Suis Bien Content. Mixing traditional and digital techniques, his films question the porosity between emotion, perception and reality; they have screened at festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, Annecy and Ottawa and won awards such as the Grand Prix at the Bruz animation festival and at Animanima. A permanent member of the Ateliers Intermédiaires art space in Caen since 2018, he also works with creative collectives across projection, sound, dance and sculpture, leads workshops, and developed his next film during an animation residency at the Cinémathèque québécoise in Montreal.
