Erik Verkerk

Erik Verkerk (born 1984) is a Dutch animation director and producer who runs the Rotterdam studio Ka-Ching Cartoons with Joost van den Bosch. The two met while studying animation at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, graduated cum laude with a joint project and worked for a year at Cartoon Saloon in Ireland before founding Ka-Ching Cartoons in 2007. They created the series George & Paul and The 3D-Machine, made series for the Efteling theme park, directed the animated TV film De Tand des Tijds and the feature Urbanus de Vuilnisheld, and in 2024 released two Dikkie Dik feature films. They also work as producers and co-producers, for instance on the Oscar-nominated short Beautiful Men (2023).
