Regina Pessoa

Regina Pessoa is a Portuguese animation filmmaker who grew up near Coimbra and studied painting in Porto. She began working at the Filmógrafo animation studio in 1992, collaborating on films by Abi Feijó before directing her first short, A Noite (1999). Her work explores childhood and difference through engraving techniques, from plaster and paper to digital drawing. Tragic Story with Happy Ending (2005) won the Cristal for a short film at Annecy in 2006.
