Its competitions accept animated films of up to 30 minutes in any technique, in International, International Student, National and TAFF Junior sections, and the main awards are the Grand Prix and the Tough Eye Award. Alongside the competitions, the programme includes Panorama and themed screenings, classic animation and TAFF Pro, a strand of talks, masterclasses and workshops for professionals and students. The 2026 theme, “Animated to Life”, connects animation with puppetry and stop motion. The festival dates back to August 2016 and is organised by the non-profit association Turun elokuvatapahtumat ry. Screenings take place at the Manilla Culture Factory on the Aura River and at Kino Kilta in Art House Turku.
