Since its first edition in 1980, its programme has included retrospectives of directors such as François Truffaut, Ingmar Bergman and Pedro Almodóvar, as well as masterclasses and conversations with filmmakers. The Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee organises the event in Taipei. The festival screens feature films from around the world and Chinese-language shorts, including fiction, documentary, experimental and animated works.
