Organised by Wand 5 e.V., the Festival for Expanded Media combines international short-film competitions with an exhibition of installations, net art, interactive works, games and augmented, mixed and virtual reality projects. Its separate 2 Minutes Short Film Award focuses on very short work, while the Buggles Award, presented with Pop-Büro Region Stuttgart, recognises music videos from Baden-Württemberg. Each edition has a motto that shapes its visual identity and supporting programme. Screenings sit alongside performances, lectures, workshops and activities for children and young people.
