Its programme spans fiction, documentary and animation, alongside retrospectives, country focuses, film concerts and screenings of local productions. The festival and its organising association, Rencontres image et son d’Angoulême, date back to 2004 at the IUT d’Angoulême; an independent team drawn from former Campus de l’Image students runs the event from 2015. The 2027 edition dates are 4–7 March.
