Since 2011 its home has been the Busan Cinema Center. In 2026 it was recognised as an A-list festival by FIAPF, and the winner of its Busan Award for Best Film qualifies for submission to the Academy Award for International Feature Film. The Competition section, introduced in 2025, is limited to Asian films; Vision presents Korean and Asian independent cinema, Wide Angle shows short films and documentaries, and Flash Forward covers first and second features by non-Asian directors.
