Its selection focuses on unconventional and independently produced cinema, with the Rebel Vision Award recognising films that express its rebellious, absurdist outlook. Films from any country and production year are eligible, across genres including animation, documentary and experimental work, with a running time below 60 minutes. The jury evaluates submissions privately for monthly prizes in film, genre and technical categories, then chooses an annual selection for public exhibition.
