Conceived by Rosalba Colla and organised by the cultural association QB, founded in 2015, the festival promotes the art and culture of animated cinema in Sicily and seeks collaborations and co-productions with other European countries. Its competition favours authorial and experimental work and accepts films of any genre and technique up to 20 minutes long, with separate Kids and GoGreen selections. Around the competition, the festival presents retrospectives, special screenings, exhibitions and video installations, as well as Animaphix Memorie Audiovisive, a project with schools.
