Tbilisi International Animation Festival
თბილისის საერთაშორისო ანიმაციური ფესტივალი
Tbilisi International Animation Festival (TIAF) is held each year in Tbilisi, Georgia, and is organised by the Georgian Animation Laboratory (AnimaLab); its official languages are Georgian and English. Its competitions reach beyond film: alongside feature, short, series and student animation, it awards VR works and game-related content, and short films are judged in separate age groups for audiences from three, seven and ten years old. A dedicated award goes to the best film from the Caucasus region, while the Panorama and Best of Guest Festival sections screen out of competition.
The festival treats animation, video games and related popular art forms together. Its parallel programme includes professional and family workshops, animation and game jams, school programmes, conferences and visits by guests from the animation world, with a focus on audiovisual culture for children and young people.
