Queer Lisboa was created in 1997; Queer Porto began in 2015, after a “zero” edition in October 2014, and has been based at Batalha Centro de Cinema since 2023. A single online submission form covers Queer Lisboa and Queer Porto; one form is filled in for each film, with a private online preview link, a downloadable file or a DVD.

Eligible films are documentaries, fiction, docu-fiction, experimental and animated films, short or feature length (a short is 44 minutes or less, a feature is 45 minutes or more). Films should be queer-themed, produced in the year of the festival or the year before, and not commercially distributed in Portugal. Prior theatrical release, television broadcast, DVD or VOD release in Portugal, or full legal availability on the internet disqualify a film. Films in a language other than English need English subtitles. Accepted screening formats are 35mm, DCP and high-resolution digital file.

The festivals pay no screening fee for films entered by submission, may screen each such film up to twice and use stills and up to 90 seconds of footage for promotion. The programmers give no explanation of selection criteria. The “In My Shorts” competition takes queer-themed shorts directed within the curriculum of a European film school.","http://www.queerlisboa.pt/en",[44,48,51,55,59
"Email","info@queerlisboa.pt","General contact of the organizer, Associação Cultural Janela Indiscreta
"dir@queerlisboa.pt","Artistic direction (programming)
"Phone","+351 916 106 904","Festival production office
"Address","Casa do Cinema, Rua da Rosa, 277, 2.º, 1200-385 Lisbon, Portugal","Organizer's office
"Website","http://www.queerlisboa.pt/en/2026-editions/accreditations","Accreditation requests for guests, press and industry",1792662325]
