Its programme is hand-picked rather than algorithm-driven and covers Austrian features, documentaries, short films, animation and experimental work, all presented as world premieres or first Austrian screenings. A competition forms the core, with awards including the Grand Diagonale Awards of the Province of Styria for feature and documentary film and the Diagonale Award for Innovative Cinema of the City of Graz. Films are eligible when the filmmaker lives in Austria or is an Austrian citizen, or when Austria is a production or co-production country.
