A feature film runs longer than 70 minutes and a short film from 1 to 69 minutes; neither may be part of a series or serialized content broadcast on platforms or television. Fiction, essay, documentary, animation and experimental works are accepted.\n\nSubmissions must not have been shown in Colombia before, and the 2027 rules consider works produced or premiered in 2026 and 2027; the curatorial committee may also invite earlier works. Films must have English subtitles for evaluation. Selected Spanish-language films need English subtitles, English-language films need Spanish subtitles, and films in other languages need both.
