One Second Prize receives a trophy and JPY 50,000. Final Jury Awards and other prizes include plaques or commemorative items. The final jury and executive committee select award recipients from the nominated films.","29th edition (2026 call for entries): Films must be completed on or after 1 January 2025, with the director a student at completion and aged 29 or younger on 1 April 2026. All nationalities are eligible. Previously submitted films are ineligible. Films using languages other than Japanese require Japanese or English subtitles. Entry is free, with no limit on film length or number of entries. Submission is digital through the festival application form, using YouTube or Vimeo; Google Drive is accepted only when those services cannot be used. Viewing access must remain available through 28 February 2027. Selected filmmakers provide screening and publicity materials and are expected to attend a talk. Entrants retain copyright and must clear third-party rights; the festival receives non-exclusive rights for festival operation and publicity.
