Filem'On is an international film festival in Brussels for children and teenagers aged 2 to 16, run by the non-profit Filemon. Each autumn it screens around 130 films from all over the world that rarely reach mainstream cinemas, for families and school groups, in venues across the city, from Bozar and Cinematek to neighbourhood cultural centres. Some 20 features and 50 shorts compete for awards from two national children's juries and an international teen jury, the ECFA and CIFEJ awards, a press award and an audience award.

The festival is a member of ECFA and CIFEJ and runs an industry programme on film education and on making and programming films for young audiences. Beyond the festival, Filemon organises participatory projects and school screenings, co-produces the FilemKING festival in Ghent and tours films from past editions around Belgium as Filem'On Tour. The 20th edition runs from 25 October to 7 November 2026.

Festival rules

Films must be suitable for young audiences between 2 and 16 years old. For the 2026 edition, films in competition must date from May 2025 to October 2026; works in progress are accepted if the film is ready by the festival dates. All films must have English subtitles and be available for the festival period. Competition films need a Belgian premiere at Filem'On; for the Press Award and the Belgian Short Film Award a Brussels premiere is enough. Entry is free for European short films and Belgian student films. No screening fees are paid for films in competition. One representative of a feature film in competition with a Belgian premiere (from Europe) and of a non-Belgian short film in competition is offered two nights of accommodation and an accreditation pass; travel costs are covered for European feature film guests. Features are screened from DCP, shorts from digital files and DCP.
