Grounded Film Festival

Grounded Film Festival is a free-to-enter project of the Marbella International Film Festival, run by its not-for-profit operator New World Trust, for short films made during the COVID-19 lockdown of 2020. Its aim is to keep a record of a time when people had to self-isolate and stay at home.

Eligible films are produced between 1 April and 1 July 2020 by individuals or groups in self-isolation. They run from 2 to 15 minutes, in any genre, shot on cameras or mobile phones or made with computer animation, in English or with English subtitles. Selected films are presented on the Marbella International Film Festival website under the Grounded 2020 category. A jury chooses the winner of the Grounded award, and the rules link the award and screenings of selected films to the 2020 Marbella International Film Festival.
