It is created and produced by Caída Libre, the label of Chilean artist Brisa MP, and grew out of independent videodance screenings and networking in Chile from 2004 onwards. The festival was set up in 2008 and held its first edition in January 2009 in Santiago and Valparaíso; in 2010 the second edition was broadcast on the arts channel ARTV under the name VDTV. Through FIVC On Tour, parts of the selection travel to other Chilean cities, among them Concepción, Antofagasta and Arica.
