Anija Metskond

Anija Metskond was a state forest district in Anija municipality, Harju County, Estonia. Its 1997 statutes placed it under the Ministry of the Environment and assigned responsibility for managing state forests. Its duties included forest regeneration, protection against pests and fire, forest maintenance, supervision of use, timber sales, and the construction and maintenance of forest roads and drainage systems. The district also had responsibilities for environmental protection and the functioning of protected areas. It was headed by a forest manager and maintained its own budget, accounts and official seal.
