State House of Broadcasting and Sound Recording of Kultura TV Channel

The State House of Broadcasting and Sound Recording (GDRZ) was a Moscow recording and broadcasting complex associated with the Kultura television and radio company. Its studios supported orchestral, chamber and choral recording, radio programmes and the preparation of compact-disc masters. The First Studio provided a 420-square-metre recording space with a volume of 4,800 cubic metres, while the Fifth Studio accommodated large orchestras and choirs and live broadcasts with an audience. The complex also included editing rooms for Pro Tools production and DAT-to-CD transfers. Its recording history dates to 1938, and its releases included performances by Tchaikovsky Competition laureates.
