Light Cone

About

Light Cone is a Paris-based nonprofit organization devoted to the distribution, promotion and preservation of experimental cinema in France and internationally. Founded in 1982 by Yann Beauvais and Miles McKane and run by a new team since 2007, it operates as a filmmakers’ cooperative and distributes a collection of nearly 5,000 films by more than 800 artists, from the 1920s avant-garde to contemporary work, to cinemas, museums, universities, galleries and festivals. Light Cone also programs the SCRATCH screening series in Paris, runs a documentation center that incorporates the Experimental Film Archive of Avignon (AFEA), publishes through Light Cone Editions and hosts Atelier 105, a post-production residency for experimental video works.
