About
Hessen Film & Medien GmbH (HessenFilm) is the film and media funding body of the German state of Hesse, based in Frankfurt am Main. It supports filmmakers from Hesse and productions shot in the state, funding feature films, documentaries, series, talent and short films from development through production to distribution, as well as cinemas and festivals, with a focus on new talent and documentary film. It also runs the Film Commission Hessen and the training programme STEP. Its shareholders are the State of Hesse (90 percent) and the public broadcaster Hessischer Rundfunk (10 percent).
