About
Simpals Studio is an animation studio based in Chisinau, Moldova. Founded in 2002, it began with commercials and music videos for local bands, and in 2009 studio director and producer Dmitri Voloshin and his team launched its first 3D cartoon, Gypsy and Death. The studio is best known for the Dji series of animated shorts about an unlucky Death, including Dji. Death Fails (2012) and Dji. Death Sails (2014), and in 2019 released Aripi, the first VR animated film produced in Eastern Europe. It also launched Monsters School, the first computer graphics and animation school in Moldova.
